Ann Cook Obituary

Funeral services honoring the life of Martha Ann Hodge Cook, of Camden, will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 1:00PM Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Cook’s memory to First Baptist Church Music or Media Ministry.


Martha Ann Hodge Cook, 89, died Saturday, February 13, 2021. She was born in Middlesboro, KY, daughter of the late Ernest Clyde and Stella Cross Hodge, and wife for 59 years to the late David L. Cook. Ann was a graduate of The University of South Carolina, received a degree in Education, and taught school in Kershaw County Schools for 19 years. She was also a very active member of First Baptist Church in Camden. Ann sang in the choir and in various ensembles over the years, played violin in the Church Orchestra, served as Librarian in the Media Room, and was a member of and sang in Community Chorus, Sunday School and Circle Groups. She loved music, loved her family, was a wonderful mother and wife, and mostly loved Jesus!


Surviving are her sons; Charles David Cook (Pam) of Rock Hill, James Michael “Jim” Cook (Cynthia) of Camden and Donald Lee Cook (Teresa) of Lugoff; sisters, Frances Rose (Jerry) of Morristown, TN and Eleanor Carpenter of Knoxville, TN; brother-in-law, Howard Ruskin Cook of Louisville, KY; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Tucker and a brother, Ernest C. Hodge.


Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
