Blanka Klominsky

Graveside services for Blanka Krcmarikova Klominsky, 76, of Elgin, will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 11020 Two Notch Rd, Elgin. 

Blanka passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 after a hard and courageous fight against cancer.  She was born in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic, the daughter of the late Bedrich Krcmarik and Marie Kubinova Krcmarikova.

Blanka immigrated to the US in 1969 with her husband and baby daughter.  They had a son in 1970.  She was the best stay at home mom when her children were young.  She then went to work as a cake decorator in bakeries in WI and SC.  She had incredible artistic talent and her cakes were well loved by all.  In her later years she worked as part of the kitchen wait staff at a local retirement home.  She loved getting to interact with the residents there.

Blanka enjoyed reading, baking and watching NHL hockey, especially the Hurricanes.  In recent years she enjoyed keeping up with family and friends on Facebook, and playing games on her tablet.

She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Blanka is survived by her daughter, Radka Langley (William), of Lugoff; son, Thomas Klominsky (Sharon Simonds-Edwards), of Elgin; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kylie Klominsky; and sister, Jana Plechatova, of Czech Republic. 

In addition to her parents, Blanka was predeceased by her husband, Vitezslav Klominsky.
