Brenda McCray Haynes

Funeral services for Brenda McCray Haynes, 78, will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lugoff, SC. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Eric Boone will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM – 7:30PM on Friday, March 19, 2021, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Brenda loved flowers and would appreciate any floral gifts sent.

Brenda died Monday, March 15, 2021. The daughter of the late Nathan Tillman and Inez Canup McCray. She was the first employee hired at the Food Lion located in Lugoff, SC.

Surviving is her daughter, Debra Duggan (Jim); sons, William “Johnny” Haynes, III, (Tina), Ronnie Haynes; sisters, Jennifer Stroud (Boyd), Konda Byers; brothers, Jimmy McCray (Donna), Kenneth Canup (Young), Jack E. McCray (Connie), Tommy McCray (Freida), and Johnny McCray (Ruby); granddaughters, Melissa, Celia, Rebecca, Brittney, Stacey, and Lacey; grandsons, Billy, Andrew, Zachary, Ethan and Joshua and 6 great grandchildren.

Brenda is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, William Johnson Haynes, Jr.; sisters, Frances Walker, Ruth Gillespie, Shirley Gibson, Evelyn Cothren and brother, Arlin McCray; grandson, Nathan Haynes and granddaughter Crystal Moore.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
