Brian Bertram, 53, unexpectedly passed away on September 21st, 2025. Brian was born in San Diego, California, to the late Michael L. Bertram and Jane A. Bertram.
Left behind to carry his legacy are his wife of 28 years, Kelli Bertram, Son, Michael (Katie) Bertram, Daughter, Madison Bertram, Grandsons, Owen and Tate Bertram, Mother, Jane Bertram, Grandmother, Helen Bertram, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brian is preceded in death by his paternal Grandfather, Dale Bertram, Father, Michael L. Bertram, maternal Grandparents, Robert and Ruth Petry, and uncles Mark Bertram, Tom Petry and Robert Petry Jr.
The family also wishes to thank Brian’s Aunt and Uncle, Lisa and Buck Moody, Aunt Linda (Warren) Weakley, as well as the Schoeppner family, for their help throughout his life and support after his passing.
Brian never met a stranger. Anyone he crossed paths with was considered a friend, as he saw the best in everyone. Brian was a stone and brick mason his entire life, learning at a young age from his grandfather and uncles in Ohio, where he spent much of his life.
In addition to practicing masonry, Brian found pleasure in playing and creating music with several bands in the late 90s to early 2000s, making his mark in the Cleveland music scene. In 2008, he moved to South Carolina with his family, where his love for music continued as he taught his son to play the guitar and discovered new music with his daughter. Brian worked for Voyles Masonry and built his own lawn care company, Bertram Lawn Service, whose mission was "keeping the green clean".
Brian was a kind, gentle, loyal, laid-back man who loved his family fiercely and unconditionally. The hole he leaves in our hearts and lives will not be easily filled. Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy will live on through the lives of his children, grandchildren, and in the music he created within us.
In place of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to the Brian Bertram GoFundMe Account, which will support his daughter in preparing for high school graduation and his son as he raises his two children. As per Brian’s request, the family will hold a small private gathering and celebration of life at a yet to be determined date.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is assisting the family.
