Charles Richard Blackburn

Charles Richard “Charlie” Blackburn passed away May 24, 2023 after a brief illness. He was 51 years old. A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 2:00 PM in Quaker Cemetery, 713 Meeting Street, Camden, SC. The Reverend Robbie Jeffcoat will officiate.

Charlie was an analyst with the United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security in Washington DC. He took great pride in the work he did for the Department of Commerce.

Charlie loved his family and spending time with them brought him the greatest joy. Charlie's faith in Jesus Christ carried him through his earthly life and now into life eternal.

In addition to his wife Della Sue, Charlie is survived by his daughter, Julianne Elise Reynolds Blackburn; parents, Nancy Kidd Blackburn and Randall Starling Blackburn; sisters, Elisabeth Blackburn Wingard (Keith), Jeanne Marie Blackburn, and Leslie Blackburn Gunter (Brandon), all of Lexington, SC; nieces, Caroline Grace Howard, Brittany Eden Dail (Adam), Madison Avery Gunter; nephew, Jacob Andrew Gunter; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who dearly loved him.

Charlie was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles Roland Blackburn and Jeanne Greene Blackburn; and maternal grandparents, Kelly Richard Kidd and Marie Carter Kidd.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to Lexington Medical Center Foundation, 110 East Medical Lane #140, West Columbia, South Carolina 29169.
