Clyde Heyward Barrett, Sr.

A graveside funeral service to honor the life of Clyde Heyward Barrett, Sr. will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Taylor Wells will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Clyde died Friday, February 12, 2021. Born in Boonetown, he was the son of the late Hazle and Allie Boone Barrett, and husband of the late Marion Skeen. Clyde was an Army veteran, having served in the Korean War, being stationed in Japan. He worked as a mechanic with Refearn Motor Company.

He is survived by his children, Byron Barrett (Sallie) of Lugoff, Teresa Tidwell (Doug) of Lugoff, Melinda Ritch of Lugoff, Clyde Barrett, Jr. of Cassatt, and Hazle Barrett (Virginia) of Camden; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Buddy Barrett of Kershaw.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clyde was predeceased by his son, Stanley Barrett, and sisters Frances Barrett and Mary Ella Brown.
