Dorothy Barrett

Funeral Services for Dorothy Louise Branham Barrett will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2666 US 1 South, Elgin, SC. Rev. Addison Hamrick will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with family will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, 1139 Highway 1 South, Lugoff, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.

Dorothy, daughter of the late Willie Henry Branham and Pearl Wages Branham, died on Sunday, August 25, 2024.  She was married to the late Ray Thomas Barrett for 58 years.  Dorothy was secretary for and member of Woodmen of the World for over 20 years. She also worked for Siebels Bruce.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Forrest Damon “Woody” Barrett (Kristin) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Amanda Clare Barrett and Alexander Ray Barrett; sister, Nadine Cox of Elgin; and brother, Alvin Branham (Rochella) of Elgin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her son, Gregory Ray Barrett; sister, Yvonne Franklin; and brothers, Willard Branham and Roy Larry Branham.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
