On Sunday, 1 August 2021, Edward Hubert McLeod, Sr. (Hubert) left his pain and went home to be with the Lord. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 60 years, Carolyn E. Mcleod, his three daughters, Elizabeth Rose, Mary Catherine, Anne Victoria, and his son, Edward H., Jr., as well as 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Born in Bishopville, SC and living his final 44 years in Greenville, he was a preacher, an educator, a salesman, but most of all he was a man of God. It can be said of him that the truest desire of his heart was to please his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In his later years he never spoke with a stranger that he didn’t ask the question, “If you died today, where would your soul be?” Using God’s word and his own actions he led many to a saving knowledge of Christ. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 2:30 PM. Rev. Martin Fuller and Rev. David Shoemaker will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Quaker Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2:00 PM, thirty minutes prior to the service, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. Memorials may be made to Bethel Calvary Baptist Church, 11 Easy Street, Taylors, SC 29687.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
