Emily Brown Rodgers went to heaven on Monday, February 17, 2025. She was married to L. Thurman Rodgers for 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Isleen Brown, her brother, Billy Brown, her sister, Fannie Stone, and her grandson, Robert Mann.
Emily has two daughters, Randa Mann (David) of Elgin, and Twila Cox (Chris) of Fort Worth, Texas; ten grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She attended Coker College and earned a degree in Religious Education from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. After many years as a Minister of Youth and Music in various churches, she went back to school to become a nurse. After retiring from nursing, she and Thurman volunteered with Disaster Relief. They went on several mission trips, both domestically and internationally. Emily was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, 1920 Cedar Creek Road, Blythewood, SC, 29016. Memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church, at the given address.
