Gray Sanders

William Gray Sanders, age 78, passed peacefully at home on November 7, 2024,  A celebration of Gray will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 4-6:00 PM at Camden Country Club, 111 Knights Hill Road, Camden, SC, 29020. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Junior Golf Program in care of Camden Country Club.

Gray was born in Greensboro, NC, the son of the late Hub and Ellen Williams Sanders.  He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, Business School. Gray retired as an independent insurance agent with Watson Insurance in Belmont, NC. He was a former member of Cramer Mountain Country Club, Gaston Country Club, and Camden Country Club. 

Gray was a loving husband, family man, friend to many, and a true southern gentleman.

Gray is survived by his wife, Tyler Havens Sanders; son, Samuel Whit Sanders (Michelle), of Belmont, NC; daughter, Hillary Sanders Stewart (Lee), of Belmont, NC; grandsons, Jack Sanders, and Sam Stewart; sister-in-law, Becky Sanders; niece, Sharon Sanders Olson (Scott); great-nieces, Samantha Wrenn Olson, Claire Gray Olson, and Charlotte Bruce Olson.

Other than his parents, Gray was predeceased by his brother, Bruce Sanders.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
