James D. Brogdon

A graveside funeral service for James D. Brogdon, 80, of Camden, will be held at Malvern Hill Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Craig Thompson and Rev. Buster Morris will officiate. Memorials may be made to Malvern Hill Baptist Church, 1514 Malvern Hill Drive, Camden, SC 29020.

James died Monday, October 25, 2021. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Madison Brogdon and Ruby Player Blizzard. James served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict, and was an active member and former deacon of Malvern Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Holley Brogdon; daughter, Jamie B. Thompson, and her husband, Trey; grandchildren, Cole and Peyton Thompson; sisters, Clara Hunter of Michigan and Frances Null of North Carolina; and brother, Jerry Blizzard of Georgia.

In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his brother, Elmer “Junior” Brogdon.
