A memorial service for James “Jimmy” Edward Carter, will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. A visitation will follow the service.
Jimmy died Saturday, April 10, 2021. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Katie Lou Priester Carter. He served in the United States Air Force and was a retired lineman for the City of Camden.
Surviving are his children, Shannon Eargle and Jeff Lalonde, both of Edgefield; grandchildren, Harmony and Reese Addison, of Lugoff, SC; stepson, Paul Seward, of Florence, SC; son-in-law, Allen Addison, of Lugoff, and many cousins and his ex-wife and friend Karen Hancock Siegling (Carter).
Jimmy was predeceased by his daughter, Ashley Carter Addison.
The family greatly appreciates the special friendship over the years of Clarence and Mary Page, Linda and Charles Ives, Harry Barker, Butch Bowers, Benny Shirley, Larry Bradley (Teddy Bear), Robbie Hinson, Floyd Hatfield, Hilda Barker and Amanda and Amber. Jimmy was loved by many and he loved his friends so much that there are simply too many to name but you can be assured he remembered each and every one of you until the very end!
The family would like to thank Kershaw Health Hospice for their loving care for Jimmy. And a special thanks to Kathy Lambert Cain (cousin) and H. Carter Siegling for their loving assistance and care during Jimmy’s last months with us.
