Memorial services for Janice “Jan” Helene Fleming Posey will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, 1206 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC. Reverend Jonathan Tompkins will officiate. Visitation with family will be held in the Fellowship Hall after the service. Memorials may be made to Lyttleton Steet United Methodist Church Sacks of Love Fund, or The Kershaw County Humane Society, 128 Black River Road, Camden, SC 29020.
Jan, daughter of the late Helene Bach and Omer D. Fleming, was born in Cleveland, OH on July 20, 1933. The family lived the next 15 years in Belle, WV. In 1953, she married Bill Posey, who died in 2003. Their 50 year marriage blessed them with Marshall Keith Posey, who now lives in Camden.
Also surviving Jan is Karen Burdette, who she lovingly thought of as a daughter; sister-in-law, Dottie Fleming; niece, Delores Meadows; and special God children: the Almond family, the Radford family, the Weiland family, the Biggins family; Janice Joiner; and dear, dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jan was predeceased by her brother, David Fleming.
Jan loved gardening, her church, and the many years that she sang in the Chancel Choir and singing with the pre-school Sunday School classes and Cherub Choir.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
