Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help for Jimmy Allen Miller, 84, at 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 13, 2023. Father John Zimmerman will officiate. Inurnment will follow at 3:00 PM in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00-7:30 PM on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel.
Jimmy died on Friday, November 3, 2023. Born in Georgetown, SC, he was the son of the late Herbert and Corinne Evans Miller, and husband of Jane Jendraszek Miller. Jimmy proudly served in the US Marine Corps as Military Police, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, the Knights of Columbus, and was a Eucharistic Minister at OLPH. He served as Ward 5 City Councilor for the City of Peabody, MA and worked as a newspaper advertising director. Jimmy was a dedicated family man.
In addition to his wife, Jimmy is survived by his children, Catherine Ferrell of Cassatt, SC, Susan (Jeffrey) Garrity of SC, James (Jennifer) Miller of Peabody, MA, and Lisa (Ryan) Sneed of Hendersonville, NC; and over twenty-five grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his siblings, Gilbert Miller, Hubert Miller, Nellie Von Halverson, Mildred Cooper, David Miller and Joseph Miller.
The Miller family extends their gratitude to the Watercrest Memory Care staff and the chaplain and nurses from Crescent Hospice Care.
