John Owens, Jr.

John Lucas “JL” Owens, Jr, 85, died Saturday, November 9, 2024.  He was the son of the late John Lucas Owens and Fannie Stone Owens Dowdy.  John, “JL” was a retired Woodmaster who loved building custom wood products, loved to fish, spend time boating, and grilling for his family and friends.

John is survived by his sons, Joseph W. Owens (Natalia), and John L. Owens, III; grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Owens, Robert, and Woodie Miller; sister, Frances O. Cousins, and brother, Dean S. Owens (Signa).

Other than his parents, John was predeceased by his wife, Marie Styron Owens; daughter, Dorothy Lee Owens; sister, Brenda Bartizek, and brother, Bill Owens.
