Lois Carns Obituary

Graveside memorial services for Lois Branham Carns, 96, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Salem Methodist Church Cemetery, 2367 Bowen St., Elgin, SC 29045.  Reverend Stewart Kidd will officiate.  A visitation will be held in the Fellowship Hall following the service.  Memorials may be made to Salem Methodist Church.

Lois passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026.  She was born in Blaney, SC, the daughter of the late Tillman Benjamin Branham and the late Olive Gladden Branham.  She was also the widow of John Mike Carns, her husband of 65 years.  Lois was a member of Salem Methodist Church for over 75 years and the Salem Choir for over 50 years.

Lois is survived by her children, Michael Dewayne Carns, Sr, of Elgin, Constance Carns Ammons (John), of Tryon, NC; grandchildren, Amanda Hall (Michael), Sarah Bartlett (Bruce), Ashley Malecki (Robert), Michael Dewayne Carns, Jr, John Mitchell Carns (Kaegan); great grandchildren, Keith, Victoria, Bailey Grace, Corinne, Miles, Amelia and Bailey; sister-in-law, Sivas Branham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters.

The family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to MUSC Hospice and her 3 special caregivers.
