Lurene Boan Gainey

Lurene Boan Gainey, 101, the wife of the late Laurie T. Gainey, died Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Karesh at Beechwood.

Lurene was born December 3, 1922, in Hartsville, SC, she was the daughter of the late J. Scarborough and Connie Horn Boan.  She was employed by Skyline Manufacturing until retirement, and then she became a volunteer at Kershaw County Medical Center, working for over 20 years.  She was a faithful member at First Baptist Church, Camden, where she participated in various organizations.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Bradley (Charles); grandson, Michael Bradley; granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Marian Boan and her many friends.

Lurene was predeceased by four brothers, James Boan, Cecil Boan, Herbert Boan, and Rufus Boan, and two sisters, Kathleen Tiller and Irene Edwards Gainey.
