A memorial graveside service will be held for Margie Jane Lucas Ray, 87, of Camden, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Quaker Cemetery. Margie died Saturday, May 22, 2021. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Coleman Lee and Fanny Lee Lucas, and wife of the late Mendel A. Ray. A service will be held at a later date.
Margie is survived by her children, Dottie Bell of Lugoff, and Mitchell Ray of Camden; grandchildren, Jennifer Daum, Boykin Bell, Kristin Bell, and John Ray; great-grandchildren, Lauren McCaskill, Cameron Daum, Brev Bell, and Bennett Bell; great-great-grandchildren, Chasity Greer and Bryson Boan; sisters, Mary “Teet” Elder of Kershaw, Doris Langley of North Myrtle Beach, Jenell Williams of Kershaw, Carol Reynolds of Kershaw, and Barbarann Rone (Bobby) of Kershaw; and brother, Jerry Lucas (Linda) of Kershaw.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margie was predeceased by her sons, Mendel R. “Ricky” Ray and John Shannon Ray, and by her brothers, J.C. and Howard “Buckshot” Lucas.
