She retired from the Kershaw County School District after serving 25+ years. Margie loved spending time with her family and friends. The holidays were always important for her and her family and friends. She loved adding her own personal touch to make birthdays, holidays, and even random days special for those she loved.
She grew up on a tobacco farm that was in her family for many generations working hard beside her parents and siblings. After graduating Moss Hill High School, she attended Campbell College in pursuit of a nursing degree. Then she went on to Raleigh to become a cosmetologist to support her and her husband while he attended N.C. State to get his chemical engineering degree. After graduation, they moved to Kinston, N.C. to start his career with DuPont. After starting the family, they were transferred to Seaford, D.E. until they moved to Camden, S.C. in 1970. Upon retirement, they bought a camper and traveled the United States. After settling back in Lugoff, S.C., they volunteered many years with Palmetto Bible Camp where she worked with Dan as Chairman of the Board for 9 years.
Margie is survived by her children, Betsy Truesdale of Lugoff, Daniel Knight (Sophia) of Pontiac, David Knight of Lugoff, and Susan Kocher, of Rock Hill; six grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, George Rayton Rouse, Jr., and twins, John Lynwood Rouse, and Eva Lynda Rouse Price.
