Funeral services for Marlene O’Quinn Goodwin will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, 1139 Highway 1 South, Lugoff. Rev. Mark Hopkins will officiate. Burial at Blaney Baptist Church Cemetery, 1400 Blaney Road, Elgin, will follow. Visitation with family will be held one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org/sc.
Marlene, wife of George McDuffie Goodwin, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Born in Walterboro, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Mitchell O’Quinn and Lillian Goethe O’Quinn.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 62 years; daughter, Kimberly Goodwin Spigener (Scott) of Columbia; son, Mitchell McDuffie Goodwin (Misha ) of Columbia; grandchildren, Ashley Whiteman Spigener, III (Mackenzie), Brice Goodwin Spigener (Ashleigh), and Alexandra Michelle Goodwin; a great grandson Mackey Todd Spigener and sisters, Amy Drew of Walterboro, Michelle James of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Celeste McCollum of Walterboro.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Claire O’Quinn.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
