Mary Wannamaker Hendrix Obituary

Memorial services for Mary DuPre Wannamaker Hendrix will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Grace Episcopal Church, 1315 Lyttleton Street, Camden.  Reverend Pickett Wall will officiate.  Following the service, the family will receive friends in Richardson Hall.  In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial to the charity of one’s choice.

Mary, daughter of the late William Whetstone Wannamaker, III and Betty Ray Davis Wannamaker, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025.   

Mary is survived by her children, Mary Hendrix Bratsos (Shan) and Michael Shawn Hendrix, Jr., both of Camden; their father, Michael Shawn Hendrix of Camden; grandchildren, Colton Davis Bratsos and Connor DuPre Bratsos; siblings, Ray Sabalis (Bob) of Orangeburg, SC, Harriet W. Gettys (Jim) of Edisto Island, SC, Preston Wannamaker of Columbia, SC, Amelia W. Powers (Steve) of Edisto Island, SC, and Sarah W. Karpie (Marty) of Franklin, TN; sister-in-law, Jo Marie Wannamaker of Camden;  her in-laws, Cheryl Hendrix, Dawn Jones (Jeff), Loree Stokes (Brandon), and Tina Proctor (Bryan), all of Camden; and her favorite grand-dog, Cooper.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother, William W. Wannamaker, IV.

A special thanks to all of Mary’s dear friends who helped and supported her through her journey.
