Michael Burton

Memorial services for Michael David Burton, 74, will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, 1112 Fair Street, Camden. Reverend Wyman Richardson will officiate.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM -11:00 AM, 1 hour prior to the service.   Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC 29020.

Michael was born on June 9, 1951, in Mansfield, OH, son of the late David Andrew Burton and the late Lauradee Carpenter.   Michael was selfless in his dedication to caring for and protecting the community, first as a Deputy Sheriff in Volusia County, FL until retirement. Then he began a 2nd career as an EMT in South Carolina.  Michael was employed at Prisma Ambulance Service.

Michael is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Sue Justice Burton; children, Michael David Burton, Jr. (Susan), of Orlando, FL, Wayne Douglas Burton, of Camden, Mark Anthony Burton, of Camden, and Lorretta Elaine Burton, of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren, Michael Burton, III, Noah Mundell, Zachary Mundell, Vyona Lynne Burton, Brian Burton, Mariah Burton, and sister, Karen Biglin, of Mansfield, OH.

Michael was predeceased by both of his parents, his step-father, Garland Harris, and  by his sisters, Connie, Patty, and Diane Burton.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
