Paulette Munn Obituary

Paulette Truesdale Munn of Camden, South Carolina was freed of muscular dystrophy and went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 14, 2025. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Kornegay Funeral Home in Camden, S.C. from 6pm- 7:30pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at 2pm at Camden First Baptist Church. She was born on August 12th, 1946 as the second child of seven to Alfred Cecil(“AC”) and Ruth Truesdale.

Paulette was married to Robert Munn on September 9, 1965. They met on the baseball field on Lakeshore Drive. He was a coach and she was selling concessions for her church. Robert and Paulette were married for almost 60 years and leave a legacy of love, commitment, and faithful service to each other.

Paulette is survived by husband Robert, son Malcolm(Ann) Munn of Atlanta, Georgia and daughter Shana(Wesley) Herndon of Lugoff, South Carolina.

She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Margaret Munn of Columbia, South Carolina, Mason Munn of Atlanta, Georgia, Lillian Herndon of Lugoff, South Carolina, Holly(Morgan) Riley of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Mary Evelyn Herndon of Lugoff, South Carolina, and Lucy Herndon of Lugoff, South Carolina.

Paulette is also survived by her sisters Theresa Maples, Ronnie(Don) Mims, Dawn(JB) Lawrence   of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and brothers Cecil(Loraine) Truesdale of Lugoff, South Carolina, Donovan Truesdale of Camden, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her sister, Marsha Spradley. She was also loved and admired  by many nieces and nephews.

She was the adoptive mother, grandmother, or aunt to countless number of children and adults throughout the community. She was always a listening ear and a source of love to so many. Her doors were always open and a soft landing place for their hearts.

As a young girl, she followed her savior Jesus Christ at Free Will Baptist Church. Always looking for the “one of ninety-nine”, she endeavored in countless mission opportunities. She ministered to the cadets of Camden Military Academy for over twenty years, taught Sunday School, led many “Backyard Bible Clubs” , a champion for the WMU through leading teenagers in Acteens for thirty-nine years and in her women's group, Heartshapers. She ministered at the Department of Juvenile Justice for thirty years through monthly Bible studies and special summer concerts/cook outs. She was honored with her own apartment at the Wateree Villa Apartments in Camden, South Carolina to lead weekly Sunday School throughout the year and Vacation Bible School in the summer. She led this ministry for twenty-five years. When her mobility was reduced, she began a card ministry. She hand-crafted these cards and sent thousands of cards to encourage the sick, hurt, lonely, and down-heartened.

She is now complete at her Savior’s feet and worshipping Him as she did here on Earth. For now, we will hold on to her voicemail salutation, “Jesus really does love you….please leave a message” .

The family would like to extend gratitude to MUSC Health Hospice for their exceptional care and love to Paulette. The family is also indebted to Camden First Baptist Church for their continual spiritual, emotional, and physical support. They were a true “family of God” during these last years as Paulette’s decline was more pronounced.
