Funeral services to honor the life of Randy Lee Pruitt, who proudly served the US Army defending honor and freedom from 1977-2014, will be held at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, 1139 Highway 1 S, Lugoff on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, with Full Military Honors rendered by the US Army. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, September 2, 2024 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Memorials may be made to Camden Seventh Day Adventist Church, 612 Boykin Road, Camden, SC 29020.
Randy, son of the late Bill Whittaker and Juanita Harrah, died on Monday, August 26, 2024.
Randy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Edith Renee Hudson Pruitt; daughter, Melissa Sue Collins of Krypton, KY; sons, Robert Lee Pruitt (Amanda) of Sassafras, KY, Curtis Michael Pruitt (Kiristie) of Hindman, KY, and Rocky Joe Pruitt (Kassie) of Elgin; grandchildren, Audrie, Lindsay, Cadie, Chayton, Aiden, Sydney, Zameer, Marissa, and Ryah; sister, Patty Goodson (Randy) of Piney View, WV; brothers, Danny Pruitt of Beckley, WV, Joey Pruitt (Melinda) of Beckley, WV; and Larry “Rocky” Pruitt (Bobbi) of Mt. Hope, WV.
In addition to his parents, Randy is predeceased by his son, Ryan Chadrick Sizemore Pruitt; sisters, Tonia Pruitt and Pamela Cobb; and brother-in-law, Norman Underwood, who was more like a brother to Randy.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
