A memorial service to celebrate the life of Richard Ray Bailey, Jr., 54, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Pastor Joey Durham, Heather Tetterton, and Jeremy Byrd will officiate. Visitation will follow the service in the chapel. Donations may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, P.O. Richard Ray Bailey, Jr. died on January 10, 2024. The son of the late Richard Ray Bailey, Sr. and Elizabeth Mosier Young. Richard retired from the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department after serving in the United States Navy. He was a Desert Storm veteran.
Richard is survived by his son, Josh Bailey, of Camden; sister, Heather Bailey Byrd and her husband, Jeremy David Byrd, of Camden; paternal grandmother, Helen Bailey; nieces, Jessica Tetterton Kellner (Taylor), Abbigayle Tetterton Pontes (Thalys); Anna Lee Tetterton and Sarah Jane Tetterton; aunts, Barbara Riggan, Suzanne Menkin, and Hazel McCallum; uncles, Michael Bailey and Lawrence McCallum; step-father, Willis Young, of Camden and Tara Bailey, the mother of his son.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, William Duncan Bailey; maternal grandparents, Arlene and Jack Mosier; aunt, Sandra Bailey; and uncles, Eddie Riggan and Jack Mosier.
