Robert Smith Riggs

Memorial services for Robert Smith Riggs, 79, will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel. Brent Bishop will officiate. A visitation will follow until 1:30 PM. Robert passed away on September 30, 2024. He was born in Brunswick, OH, the son of the late Robert and Concetta Rizzo Riggs. He served in the Navy on the USS America during the Vietnam war.

Robert is survived by his children, Robert Smith Riggs, of Williamsville, NY, Virginia Lynn Saibene (Norm), of Canton, OH, James Freels (Patricia), of Winfield TN, Angela Spradley Koumas (Mike), of Lugoff, SC; grandchildren, Christopher  Riggs, Robert  Riggs, Steven Riggs, Isabella Riggs, Brittney Shields, Shelly Shields, Ronald Duguary, Dalton Freels (Liv), Jordan Freels, Peyton Freels, Elizabeth Hammond (Jeremy), Trey Spradley (Ashley), Brandon Spradley, Gage Koumas, Blair Koumas Hall (Will), Brook Koumas; great-grandchildren, Aria Riggs, Amaya Shields, Giovanni Shields, Finn Freels, Ella Freels, Eva Freels, Tanner Hammond and Macie Hammond, and brother, Carl Riggs, of Punta Gorda, FL.

Other than his parents and his wife, Mattie Freels Riggs, Robert was predeceased by his sister, Carlene Riggs.
