Graveside services for Ruth Blackmon Ketchen, 95, will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1659 Kershaw Highway, Camden. Mr. Rick Strawn will lead the service. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Ruth was born in Rock Hill, SC, the daughter of the late Benjamin Tillman Blackmon and Lula Belk Blackmon. She was the widow of Charles Erskine Ketchen. Mrs. Ketchen was a member of Rowan ARP Church.
Ruth is survived by her son, Charles Michael Ketchen (Ranae) of Green Valley, AZ; daughter, Ann Ketchen Huntley of Ruby, SC; grandchildren, Duncan McGregor “Mac” Huntley (Tabitha), and Cynthia Huntley Southard (Wayne); great-grandchildren, Zander, Gabe, Taylor Huntley and Marissa and Summer Southard; and step-great-grandchildren, Bailey, Landon (Katelyn), and Cierra Southard.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret Elizabeth “Peggy” Ketchen Brown; sons-in-law, William “Bill” Brown, and Duncan McGregor “Greg” Huntley; sisters, Elise B. Kneece, Frances B. Blanks, Ellen B. Serino, Guyoma B. McGuinn, and Ethel M. Blackmon “Boots”, and brothers, Dr. L.W. “Red” Blackmon and G. Bevin Blackmon.
