Funeral services for Samuel Kenneth “Buddy” Ard, Jr. will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Pisgah Baptist Church, 8295 Black River Road, Rembert, SC 29128. Dr. Glenn Huggins, Brian Raley, Russ McDonald, and Lorenzo Dinkins will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be from 6:00-7:30 PM on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, 1112 Fair Street, Camden. Samuel Kenneth “Buddy” Ard, was born July 10, 1960, to the late Samuel Kenneth and Ethel Bullock Ard. Buddy was an Air Force veteran. He loved Jesus, the Gamecocks, and country music. Buddy was blessed with a beautiful singing voice, and his dancing skills were second to none. He always knew the right words to say, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. Buddy was a light when he entered a room, and he made everyone smile. His greatest loves were his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.
Samuel is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia Huggins Ard; children, Jennifer Ard Rogers (Calvin), of Sumter, Samuel Kenneth Ard, III (Meredith), of Elgin, Matthew Timothy Olin Ard, of Blythewood; grandchildren, Sam, Sutton and Cam, and brothers, Anthony William Ard (Elizabeth), of Irmo and William Jeffrey Ard (Karen), of Augusta, GA.
Samuel was predeceased by a grandson, Sawyer Ard, and a brother, Michael Timothy Ard.
