Funeral services for Leonard Samuel “Sam” Mobley will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 1201 Broad Street, Camden, SC. Pastor Wyman Richardson will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1659 Kershaw Highway, Camden. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel. Memorials may be made to Campers on Mission, c/o Ken Hall, PO Box 391, Iva. SC 29655, or First Baptist Church.
Born in Bethune, SC, Sam was the son of the late William Carl Mobley and Margaret Hasty Mobley. Sam was married to Anne Truesdale Mobley for over 60 years. He retired after 36 years as a service technician for Southern Bell. Sam served as a S.C. National Guardsman from 1964-1970. Sam and Anne actively served as members of Campers on Mission. This organization has many ways to serve. They service construction, repair and maintenance of churches or camps across the U.S.
In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by his children, L.S. “Len” Mobley, Jr. (Michele) and R. Alan Mobley; grandchildren, Tyler Evan Gray, Leigha (Andrew) Bell, Trenton (Lynley) Blankenship, and Travis Boan; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Elaine M. Jackson.
Sam was predeceased by his son, William Todd Mobley; sister, Kertina Horton; and brother, W.C. Mobley, Jr.
