Sandra Hyjek Amato

Sandra Hyjek Amato, 80, died Wednesday, September 17, 2025.  She was born in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph Hyjek and Frances Zolnowski Hyjek. 

Sandra was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church and was a supporter of the patron saint of St. Jude.  She loved the Buffalo Bills, crime stories, books, and animals. 

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Christina “Tina” Amato Lange (Kevin), of Camden; son, Joseph Amato, of Buffalo, NY; brothers, Tom Hyjek (Kathy), of Florida, and Conrad Hyjek, of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren, Ashley Amato, Chelsea Amato; 6 great-grandchildren, and a number of relatives and friends. 

Other than her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Amy Amato.
