Shirley Wanda Sanders

Funeral services for Shirley Wanda Sanders, 70, will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2668 Highway 1 South, Elgin, SC 29045.  A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at 3:00 PM at the church.  Pastor Addison Hamrick will officiate. 

Shirley passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.  She was born in Columbia, SC the daughter of the late Barney B. and Lula Queenie Martin Cooper. 

Shirley is survived by her children, Melinda Jordan (Scott), of Elgin, Tiffany Hankinson (Elliott), of Lugoff, William Horton (Ashley), of  Elgin; grandchildren, Chad, Bradley, Emily, Matthew, Brodie, Joseph, Mikaela; great-grandson, Carter; sister, Barbara Cooper, of Elgin, and brother, Rickie Cooper, of Fernandina Beach, FL.

Other than her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Charles Gary Sanders.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
