Susan Willetts

Susan Pippin Willetts, widow of John Elwood Willetts, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert I. Pippin and Claire Bursum Pippin.

Susan graduated from Beaver College with a degree in music, and she was a concert pianist. She was an avid equestrian and sailor on the Wateree Lake. Susan was an artist, world traveler, horticulturist, and she loved fast cars. She was a huge lover and protector of animals and was an avid supporter of the Theil-Meyer Animal Shelter.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Colette Cloud Slemp of Lugoff and Deidre Cloud Hamlet of Richmond, VA; step-children, Lyn Willetts and Mac Willetts, both of Camden; sister, Caroline Pippin Gaty of Denver, CO; grandchildren, David, Andy, Carter, and Courtney; and great-grandchildren, Abbie, Jacob, Patrick, Luke and Hayden.

In addition to her parents and husband, Susan was predeceased by her step-son, Bob Willetts and her niece, Jessica Gaty La Rock.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Theil-Meyer Animal Shelter, 128 Black River Road, Camden, SC 29020.
