Graveside services to honor the life of Thomas Marion McLeod, a friend and gentleman to all, will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at McLeod Chapel Church, 294 McLeod Chapel Road, Rembert, SC. Reverend Debra Anderson-Joe will officiate. Thomas, born in Camden to the late Thomas Clarence McLeod and Clara Sartain McLeod, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mavis Gabriel McLeod; sister, Darlene McLeod Maxwell (Art) of Camden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his sisters, June Redding, Mary Crowder, and Sheryl Sweet Miller.
After graduating from Camden High School, Thomas served his country in Vietnam and returned home to farm the family land. He was very active in many of the Camden Little Theater productions: My Three Angels, Our Town, Guys and Dolls, South Pacific, and most notably in the role of Judd in the musical Oklahoma. Thomas was recognized as quite the up-and-coming actor.
He spent his later years supporting neighbors and those in his community. Thomas served as a general handyman, mentor to neighborhood children, and environmentalist in the area.
