Wanda Humphrey Obituary

A service to celebrate the life of Wanda Raye G. ”Wink” Humphrey, age 65, will be held at Cassatt Baptist Church, Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Reverend Dean Elliott and Reverend Todd Horton will officiate. Due to Covid 19, the service will be held in the picnic area. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM, one hour prior to the service, also in the Cassatt Baptist Church picnic area. Memorials may be made to the Cassatt Baptist Church, 2604 Highway 1, North, Cassatt, SC 29032.


Wanda died on Sunday, January 24, 2021. The daughter of the late Walker and Sadie Cassidy Gainey. She loved her family, family get togethers and loved children. Wanda was a children’s Sunday school teacher for many, many years. She also loved gospel concerts, shopping, her two cats and the Carolina Gamecocks.


She is survived by her husband, Randall Humphrey; sisters, Lila Shephard, of Conyers, GA, Reba Autrey, of Pelion. SC, Evelyn Hammond, of Lexington, SC, Pat Carnes (Harvey), of Lancaster, SC, Jean Farmer (Larry), of Kershaw, SC; brothers, W.J. Gainey, of Lancaster, SC, Benny Gainey, of Bethune, SC; along with many nephews, nieces and cousins.


Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Ola Eason.


Pallbearers for her service are Richard Dixon, Ben Eason, Jason Gainey, Austin Gainey, Danny Autrey and Ben Autrey.


Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
