William Garner, Sr.

Memorial services for William Thomas Garner, Sr., will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, 1139 Highway 1 South, Lugoff. Reverend Todd Horton will officiate.  Visitation with family will follow the service.

William, widower of Francis Gainey Garner, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.  Born in Union Point, GA, he was the son of the late Nellie Mae Meeks Garner and Larkin William Garner.

William is survived by his daughter, Sherry Garner of Lugoff; sons, William Thomas Garner, Jr. (Deborah) of Ridgeway, Matt Garner (Pansie) of Lugoff, and Tony Garner of Camden; grandchildren, Courtney, Molly, Jennifer, Nicole, Jeffrey, Chris, Troy, David, and Stephanie; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Trancey Twitty (Mike) of Camden and Valerie Lominac (Kenny) of Camden; and brothers, Jack Garner (Elaine) of Lugoff and Jimmy Garner of Camden.

In addition to his parents and wife, William was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Garner Ray; son, David Garner; great-grandchild, Will Shealy; sister, Faye Taylor; and brothers, Oliver Garner, Melvin Garner, Lindsay Garner, and Alfred Garner.

Kornegay Funeral Home, Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
