William Donovan Guinn, Sr. died peacefully at home on June 28, 2025, with his children, Terry, Donovan, and Judy at his side.  Bill is predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Gerald Gardner Guinn, and two great-grandsons, Henry Smith and Fischer Cruz Guinn.  He is survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Bill was the youngest of 6 brothers and 2 sisters: Dorothy, Doris, Jack, Chick, Gilbert, Curt, Gail, and Ivan. They were lovingly reared in Camden, SC by Jeter David Guinn and Bessie Nancy Crolley Guinn.  Needless to say, being the youngest of this extensive clan, he was spoiled and was cared for, loved, and coddled his whole life.

Bill earned his nickname Dool from his brothers because it was his chore to milk the family cows, and they called him early every morning, The name stuck and he was called Uncle Dool by family and friends.

Bill proudly served in the 3 branches of the US Military: Jr. Air Force ROTC, the US Navy before college, and 20 plus years in the US Army Reserves.  He was a 1962 graduate of the University of South Carolina and an avid Gamecock fan until his dying day, sitting through many winning and losing seasons with his wife and kids at Williams Brice Stadium.

He was a kind father who loved fishing, hunting, and golf.  He enjoyed eating out, music, and dancing, all done with a smile that included everyone.  In later years he enjoyed the company of Marilyn Hefler, who made him very happy.

Everyone who met Bill loved him, and he will be missed.
