James Roberts Obituary

A graveside funeral service for James Oscar “Jimmy” Roberts will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Dee Vaughan will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Babcock Center, PO Box 3608, West Columbia, SC 29171; UCP, 1101 Harbor Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169; or to the charity of one’s choice.

Jimmy died Thursday, April 29, 2021. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Melvin Oscar Roberts and Nancy Anthony Smith.

He is survived by his second cousin, Garry W. Anthony (Hazel) of Columbia; aunts, Rita Brooks of North Augusta and Helen Anthony of Greenville; and uncles, Randy Anthony of Easley and Kenneth Anthony of Mobile, AL.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his stepfather, Joseph Wilbur Smith.

The family would like to thank the Babcock Center and UCP for their care of Jimmy over the years, and also thank the staff of the Lowman Home and Lutheran Hospice Services for their care.
